2. Christian Dior - Midnight Poison (2007)
A dark patchouli, amber, and rose masterpiece created by Jacques Cavallier and Olivier Cresp. Vaulted in 2013, its dramatic scent profile has never been successfully replicated.
3. Yves Saint Laurent - M7 (2002)
Under the creative direction of Tom Ford, YSL released M7, launching the Western obsession with Oud. Original bottles with the all-amber glass design are highly prized.
4. Shiseido - Nombre Noir (1981)
Designed by Serge Lutens, this dark, woody rose is famous for its unstable formulation (highly prone to light-degradation) and its extremely high production cost. Only a few intact bottles remain today.
